Here's another book by Rainbow Rowell. Unlike "Landline", "Fangirl" is more of a young adult read (first year of college, with swear words). It's cool. Interesting backstories, quirky plot turns. For those of you you've read it, I especially enjoyed the fanfic side of the story, where I kept picturing Harry Potter in love with what-his-face Malfoy, Draco.

Landline
"Landline" by Rainbow Rowell is mostly a romance with a hint of SF or the supernatural. A satisfying Christmas read.

with the gingerbread man birthday cake. Tigger saved Andy’s life four years
later when Andy got a cramp swimming in the river behind their house.
I feel for
Tigger. When I saved somebody’s life, I received this wheelchair in
exchange.... But at least I got to live. Tigger wasn’t so lucky.
You might say
it’s not much of a life I have, but—considering the alternative—I like it fine
the way it is. Which brings me to the dilemma at hand: Andy wants us to get
married. If I accept, my life—which I like fine as it is—would not stay as it
is.
