Aphrodite and Beauty and Red Rose - a guest post by Kat Holmes

First off I want to thank Eve for inviting me. It’s an honor to be here. Hello everyone my name is Kat Holmes and I write erotic romances. So far I have two books out with Red Rose and a third about to release. I also have three more in the pipeline with Red Rose and one in the works with Muse It Hot.

I am so blessed to be able to write and share with all of you my passion for stories. This was a passion sowed in me when I was very young by my Mom. I love how words mesh together to form a picture in our minds. It’s like a painting only the canvas is paper and the paint is words.

I have always written but it was only ever for my own pleasure. Then, back in 2002 I began to have very serious convulsive seizures. I have always been epileptic but I’d always had the small ones. But now I was having what they call Grand Mal seizures. Medications did nothing to control them and since I was having several a day, working became too difficult.

So I wound up having a lot of time on my hands and began writing even more. Then I started communicating with an author named N.J. Walters and she encouraged me to try submitting my stuff. When your writing hero tells you to do something, you listen. So I submitted and was rejected. I submitted a new story to a different publisher and was rejected.

But then one day I happened on a website for e-books called Red Rose Publishing and saw they had a line called Autumn Rose. The line was for stories about older women and younger men. Immediately a whole idea for a story flashed in my mind. I wrote it and submitted it to them. And it was contracted! That was a year ago and the rest is as they say history.

Amazingly, one of the stories I had subbed to another house that had been rejected was contracted by Red Rose and is the first story in a brand new series called Gods At Work. Book one in the series was released May 6th of this year and actually made the bestseller list which totally surprised and thrilled me. It’s called Working Under Covers.

Book two in the series, titled Heart Of The Queen, is all done and is due to release soon though I don’t have the exact date yet. The covers for both of my Gods At Work books were done by the very talented Missy Lyons. My very first book with Red Rose, which isn’t part of this series and is a short stand alone tale released on March 18, 2010 and is called Voice In The Night.

All I can say is I am having a blast. It’s wonderful to be able to do what you love. And to be able to share my love of storytelling with all of you is paradise. And now, let me share a brief blurb about Working Under Covers with you.

The economic crunch is affecting everyone nowadays, even the Gods of Mt. Olympus. Tributes are way down and Zeus isn't happy. He decrees that each and every god must go out into the mortal realm and get jobs.

Aphrodite, Goddess of Love and Beauty decides to set up shop in Los Angeles, California. She opens her own Internet Dating service called Venus Connections and hides her true identity by taking on the name Ariel Schell.

Jordan Cade, retired cop turned private investigator is roped by his former boss into tackling one last undercover assignment. Three women have gone missing and the only thing that links them is an Internet dating service called Venus Connections.

All Jordan wants is to find the missing women. All Aphrodite wants is to earn a living. But the Fates have other plans. Now a mortal man and an immortal Goddess must overcome their vast differences. A little under the covers work might be needed.

And here is a blurb for Heart Of The Queen.

When money troubles force the Gods to come and work among mortals, Hera decides to become a midwife and takes the name of Heather Juno. By chance, two stunning men named James Rhodes and Noah Blake come into her office to help out James’s sister. The men are lovers but they want to add Hera to their family. Divorced from a husband who spent thousands of years cheating on her, Hera is extremely reluctant in spite of being attracted to both men. James and Noah, veterans of Iraq are used to fighting for what they want and they are not about give Hera up. The battle is on for The Heart Of The Queen.
